He’ll try to win you back 

He’ll text you with an inside joke and make it seem like the past will never happen again 

He’ll flirt with you and tell you how amazing you are. He’ll act interested in your life story. He’ll want to catch up, and he’ll let you talk this time. 

And he’ll tell you you’re beautiful. 

He’ll ask you over for a beer or to watch the game, hobbies you picked up because of him. 

And he’ll be so sweet. It’ll be like he’s a new man. 

But he’s not. 

He’s the same sociopath you dated before, but he wants you back because now he’s alone. 

He wants someone to talk to, to confide in, to sleep with. 

To hold him tight when the nightmares creep in
